You're not hated. You just have to wait. I dont want a 31 in my group, however that doesnt mean I hate 31's. I will glady take a group of 31's through normal in hopes of getting them gear or shards to level up so they can become level 32 and do the hard raid with me.

I just wanna do the hard raid once to say I've done it. Cause I'm never getting helm at this rate.

The players I beat crota with are all 32. But they don't all have second characters that are 32. Some 31. Yet I'm happy to raid with them as they've already proved there ability so I know they are capable of putting their shift in. The right weapons and a sword bearer with precise timing are the most important things for crota. Not so much that level next to your name. Within reason of course.

I'm in the same boat in terms of weapons. I sorta forced my own luck in terms are armour. Playing through crota 3x a week. Twice a weak as warlocks. Until I 32'd a character. No amount of encouragement and prayers to the rngesus has given me a ghorn nor a hunger of crota as of yet. And people are a bit hesitant letting you in with 'truth'. They also say and I quote 'people who have beaten crota on hard already only. The team I beat crota with yesterday. Not a single one of us had beaten crota on hard beforehand. People set there standards to high and are so unwilling to help.

I feel like people should let you in with Thunderlord. That thing is the savior when it comes to Oversouls.

I think the only way you could get away with running a heavy machine gun on crotas end, is if you were the sword bearer. But for that to happen 90 percent of teams would like you to be a hunter. Trust me on this one. It makes a difference lol. And that's coming from a warlock. And 100 percent of teams would not let a 31 run sword if they were serious about completing it. As far as I'm aware anyway. I'm only going by what Ive seen.

I can't agree more in terms of over souls. Heavy machine guns In general just tear the oversoul a new one. Rockets are of ridiculous importance in the hard raid however as your Trying to down crota twice per sword. And have him dead in three swords. Ideally you wanna do this without oversoul until the 20 percent health oversoul. At which time you simply ignore the oversoul anyway =).

True. I just haven't been lucky with post dlc rocket launchers lol. Been having a void unfriendly giant forever.

You just need the chest. The helm sucks. I have a hunter and if I had the chest I would rather run with an Exotic helm like Mask of The 3rd Man for orb regen. Its not anything against 31's. Its just a hell of a lot harder especially since most raid groups are random, you never know what you're getting. Even at a 32 its hard. You get 2 shoted by boomers at 32 and litterly 1 hitter quitter by thralls at 31.

I'm not getting Mask of 3rd Man for a much longer times after I get raid helmet lol. Xur will never sell it again.

Any exotic helm works as long as you're 32. Hell I ran hard mode with the Crest of Alpha Lupi chest and that was one of the worst choices I could have made BUT I was 32 so my skill wasnt being out weighted by the fact im shooting a water gun at the hollowed knights.

That's the only downfall to Crest in my opinion. The no revives.

To be honest your best bet to hit 32 sooner rather than later would be to use an exotic helmet, combined with raid chest, boots and gauntlets. It might not be your ideal setup. But for now at least it will get the level people are asking for in order to join there FireTeam. I prefer my team mates to be 32. Although if a 31 can pull his/her weight and without dying. I don't mind long as the vast majority are 32.
