Currently SGA is underperforming in every aspect under the Thunderlord and most other exotics. This could be fixed in 2 ways: This gun has 3 barrels, so why not make it a hipfire gun. This would synergy well with its exotic perk. Make the first upgrade better hipfire, and give it an enormous impact and extreme recoil. Additionally, give it either Field scout, quicker reload or snapshot. This would help choosing it over thunderlord for certain moments. Number 2: Return hit shots to magazine, but with half the chance. So you would still have the Exotic perk for being accurate. This would also synergise well with perfect balance or Balance adjustment. Just a quick idea, because crowd control is lame... Kinda.
