While 343 has totally ruined the Halo franchise, Halo 3 is still and will always be the best game of all time of any genre on any system. This is my opinion. Thank you.

Yeah I'm kinda surprised more people voted destiny. Halo is a big part of my maturing in video games. I'll never not love it.

I honestly think they're hard to compare, besides the fact that they're obviously quite different games. For me, Halo came into my life at the very young age of 7 (yeah yeah, cue all the comments about squeakers playing online, M rated games, blah blah blah. I didn't play online, so whatever) and for the next 13 years until now, it's had a huge impact on my life. Playing Halo is how I met new friends, how I hung out with my best friends; it was the one thing that pretty much everyone I knew while growing had in common. So for me, Halo is more than a game, I honestly can't really imagine what my life would be like today had Halo not existed. Halo is more than just something used to pass the time, it's a memory and a connection to my friends. That being said, I think Destiny is an amazing game in its own right. Sure it has its flaws, but so does every other game. Had Destiny come out 13 years ago I feel like it would've had just as much or maybe even more of an impact on my life than Halo has. I guess we'll see 10 or so years from now.

they are hard to compare but Halo by like "in a galaxy far far away" far is the best, best story, best mechanics, and it stroke when the metal was hot at the time, this new genre of FPS hit the iron and i was 13 when CE came out "E=MC mind blown" and then Halo 2 and then Halo 3 but when you think about Destiny, its a new breed of its own to the console world FPS MMORPG, yeah there probably is FPS MMORPG on computers (dont touch those games) but to us console games its the new new, the gameplay is sweet because its like Halo, its like the new feel of AWE! i felt back when CE came out but Destiny coming out in a time where worldly network connecting is prime we are like "hell yeah" but to me makes up for sore excuse of a story and varity but hey im sure 10,000 others have posted that on here so not getting into that.....bottom line Halo

They are too different to compare the two. It still surprises me that the same company made the two.The only thing they have in common is the story is the weakest part of the game. I played all the way up to halo 3 and can not remember anything about the story.

Yeah 90% of the people who voted for Destiny don't even own and Xbox so i wouldn't take this poll at face value. Also, just went down the first page of responses, every post bashing Halo in general or Halo 5 was from a PlayStation player. Gotta hate what you cant have right?

It depends on the halo specifically. halo 4+ is trash. Ce to halo 3 was amazing.

Halo for the story destiny is more fun with friends

Honestly I would have loved to play both, but I spent my savings on a playstation 4 rather than an Xbox. At the time xbone was not doing so good (hardware and software issues). However given the chance I would have loved to give Halo a try.

Halo AND Destiny

!gnoP started it all. Operation: Desert Storm made people notice Bungie. Pathways Into Darkness was their first FPS/RPG hybrid. Marathon put them on the map. Oni was their first console crossover. Myth won the hearts and minds of the RTS community. Then they said, sorry everyone. We're making our new game Xbox only (which was previously announced for Mac/PC). Thanks for getting us to the point where Microsoft would offer us a fat deal, but we are out. P.S. Go buy an Xbox. Bungie made Halo and people were excited, it brought in gaggles of new fans who didn't play on Mac or PC. Bungie made Halo 2 and realized their deal wasn't all they'd thought it was. Bungie made Halo 3 and said, we are done making Halo. We want to make a new game. Microsoft cracked the whips and said, thou shall make Halo for all eternity or until your contract expires, whichever comes first. Bungie made more Halo games that people scoffed at. Microsoft asked a bunch of Bungie people, who were all actually Microsoft Game Studios people, to form 343i. Bungie took their name and went off to make the game they wanted to make after Halo 3. 343i stayed on to milk the Halo name for as long as possible. And we all got Destiny. Point being, Halo started nothing. Halo was actually the last game Bungie made, before Destiny. I was one of those 8 year Mac fans who got shafted in 2000. I am still somewhat bitter. I am happy that I can play a game that is great at its core, even though it's lacking in story. I do hope they get around to fixing that. I did finally get to play through all of the Halo games in 2014. It seemed much less exciting than I thought it would be given all the hype surrounding it. I kind of felt like Marathon had a better plot and more dialog. But that's probably nostalgia talking. Regardless, Bungie's FPS games all feel very much the same to me. Oni was a real treat, though that wasn't directly Bungie, but Bungie West. I always thought that Oni's blend of shooting and melee combat with special moves was really cool. The plot was pretty good too IMHO. That said, I like that Destiny gives me something to do instead of WoW and let's my poor old computer get back to what it was intended for. And I have rambled on and on and on...

You can't compare the two because they're gaming mechanics and audience are different. Halo is a FPS masterpiece with great PvP multiplayer. However, it is its story that captivated me since I turned on the first Xbox. Destiny is more of an MMO, which requires constant interaction amongst users and teamwork to complete stories in the game. If anything I'd compare Destiny vs. Borderlands, or any other comparable game. Because for me, Halo blows all FPS's out of the water.
