This is what I don't understand. Why run ahead and just wait if your fire team? If they are killing all the enemies it would be faster if you killed enemies with them.

Because I have a limited time to play, I try to complete as many bounties as possible in the shortest ammount of time. I don't run ahead of my team I try and keep up the pace, if I have time or no bounties. Then yes, I'm usually the last person left killing people catching up to my teammates.
