Indeed! There's also active reloading! Just start reloading, and the moment that your ammo counter changes you can initiate a Sprint/ change weapons to cancel the rest of the reloading animation.

Almost every single fps Shooter game has this mechanic, and I always use it.

That's less an unspoken mechanic and more an exploit of the reload animation, but good for you telling people about it anyway.
