Seeing as this thread was recently revived I'll just use it to share my latest incident. I've just switched sorts at work so now I end up coming home around three in the morning, (the time when all the little nocturnal critters are out and about) tonight I hit a bat with my car, smacked right against the windshield as is swooped down across the road. It was the first animal to my knowledge that I have struck while driving, then less than a mile down the road I had to swerve to avoid hitting a opossum standing in the middle of my lane. This thread is now about roadkill.
