With the 'kinder, gentler' way the webteam has chosen to run the site since the overhaul, I seriously doubt it.
This place has become like schools today.
We went from an administration that kept things in order, high and tight, from the office (webteam) all the way down through the ranks of the teachers (ninjas). Now we have an administration that has become absorbed in the running of the program and have forgotten about the students, as well as the teachers have become more restricted by the laws and regulations that the administration have passed down. So we have some teachers that won't come out of the lounge, others that are passing it around under the bleachers with those who used to be in detention, and we still have a few good teachers who still do what they can within the confines of the new regulations.
They've handed out iPads to every student (self moderation tools) and think that the students will learn better that way. But what happens is the students know more about the iPads than the staff ad are watching YouTube and averting all the program blocks installed because they were never really a deterrent to the kids. The kids have found every available loophole and exploited them to their fullest. Once in a while a teacher gets wise to it, tells the administration and at some point months and months later the staff finally have a meeting to look at the current state of their school. They revitalize the teachers abilities (this past January rules rebolstering), but still only looked at a couple of the issues rather than the entirety of the infractions. They totally overlooked the graffiti taggers (necrobumpers) that abuse our halls.
The clubs (private groups) never leave their classrooms and fear the halls, for being molested by the roaming packs of hoodlums that claim them as their territory.
Making and enforcing rules that keep the establishment in decent order must be too tough to manage I guess.
It just a matter of time before more new students follow the path of the hoods, for they see that there is no real disciplinary action for egregious behavior. As grades (attitudes) continue to plummet and some borderline students begin to quit school (leave B.net) because of the inmates running the asylum, this place will become more and more a shadow of it's former glory.
Is it from the school board (new business model) or is it because the staff has become apathetic?
Both maybe?
Many of us take some pride in being a part of this place too.
It's becoming harder to care anymore.
This overall GPA here is in endangering it's accreditation.
It's sad.
They want every one to be a community together, but don't make it a safe enough place for all to feel that they can.
