Quote Of The Day: 3-23-14

"Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have, life itself." -Walter Anderson I hope you all have a great day

      • And more often it is perfectly Ok to take the middle road between these two extremes. Why place an artificial pressure, or a definition of "normal" onto someones grief or happiness? There is nothing wrong with the choice to "sit in sadness", or find yourself lost and "immobilized by the gravity of loss". Take the time to morn the death of a loved one ... or to explore the pain brought by the cessation of a loving relationship. At some point (if not already) you will feel the pain brought on by the ending of a relationship that you though may have been set to never end. You will listen to songs and/or watch movies which may enhance that pain, and you will ask yourself why ... and at that time it is all encompassing, it is life itself. And here you do not "rise from the pain", but the pain sustains you like a bowl of chicken soup. The pain stays with you, and like some fine drugs heightens your future experiences. Life is like that ... it starts with pain from birth, but its bolsters us to find its counterpoint - joy.
