Why do you think people crave attention...

...in ways which will obviously result in people disliking that person? Wouldn't it be better and easier to pander to public opinion so as to be well-liked and popular at the same time? Popularity and being well-liked always has better perks than infamy and the general animosity of society. I figured this an appropriate question to ask in light of recent.... events? If you can call them that. Thoughts?

  • Because they don't think of the long-term effects, they think of the short-term ones. That momentary instance of admiration from others is more valuable to the feeble-minded than sincerity and honesty that will benefit them significantly more in the future.
