Destiny at 0700 (EST)
So, it is early and my day starts at 0600; I got to thinking about Destiny. With information coming at a painful pace, I started doing some speculations. After watching all of Destiny's latest videos, I began thinking about this brand new universe. Sure, this happens in our world, on planet Earth, in this galaxy. Here is what I want to know, will we get to see humanities monuments? By this I mean, are there going to be subtle easter eggs to link this new world to our current time. For instance, will we travel to Mars in this game, and if so, will we see the Mars Rover?
I am excited to see how Bungie connects the timelines of this game to reality, thus creating a more submersive experience. It would even be exciting to see Bungie Studios in an underground bunker beneath the Traveler.

Then when the game comes out we could show up and say" oh this is where my family was almost wiped out, there is the xx bridge right there."

I think it'd be great to take a ship and take a bird's eye tour of Chicago, go around the Willis Tower, maybe go over Thillens Stadium. I mean, I don't expect them to [i]completely[/i] replicate the entire city [i]L.A. Noire[/i]-style, but a few of the bigger, more recognizable landmarks would be really cool. Personally, since they're calling Chicago a "swampland," I'm imagining it'll be akin to NY in [i]I Am Legend[/i], except . . . boggier. Also, I agree. Seeing the Mars Rover half-buried under red sand out in the middle of nowhere would be [i]so freaking cool[/i].

I'd imagine it will be similar to the television show Revolution in some aspects and hope they do implement scenarios similar to the Mars Rover as that would be a neat little homage to what we humans have actually accomplished.

Anything is sure possible at this point. Although, I am careful to temper my enthusiasm with officially announced facts. I find that if I start thinking too much I accidentally put the game a pedestal that nothing has a remotely possibility of reaching.

I could see that having different monuments for sure. It will be interesting to see what all they add to the landscape of the game. Like the eiffel tower in Paris would be cool, I'm sure they will have things from Chicago also. Its going to be fun exploring and finding things.
