My first video game ever was Pokemon Silver. From there, I played Crystal, Sapphire, and Emerald. Pearl was my last one before I sold my DS. I recently started playing a new game on my roommate's copy of Black, but I'm actually not enjoying it. Generation V is just too weak. I'm finding all my favorite Pokemon, and there are very few, are either electric, water, or ground type. I might actually buy a 3DS for X and Y, though. 3D is a big enough jump to bring me back. And for the record, my order of generations: III > II > I > IV > V
