GOP spending 3 million tax payer dollars defending DOMA

http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/15/g-o-p-wastes-taxpayer-dollars/ Defense of Marriage Act, if you're bad with acronyms. >Cue the budget-conscious Republicans on Capitol Hill, who authorized the spending of up to $2.75 million in public funds to hire lawyers to defend DOMA on their behalf. Apparently, that was not a big enough check, so on Jan. 4, the House Republicans raised the fee ceiling to $3 million. Also, Every time stricter gun laws are proposed, Republicans cry foul and invoke the second amendment and constitutional rights. But they defend laws like the Defense of Marriage Act, which denies equal rights to a minority - rights that are guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. Gotta love how the Republicans will only defend some rights, you know? Oh Shit Republicans what are you doing.

Genius. Reinforce the GOP as the party of gay bashers in an America where the majority and growing support gay marriage and on top of that the image of hypocrites when it comes to fiscal responsibility. One of the downsides to the 2012 election was that the Republicans weren't slaughtered enough. The GOP needs to be brought to its knees so it can reinvent itself as a respectable and competitive party. Right now it's rightfully the party of stupid and that's not good for the health of the United States.
