The problem with this modifier is that the passive bonus to shields doesn't scale with difficulty.

same problem here. trying mission master conquest: Conduit solo and it has Volatile Shields trade-off mod which requires team mates to defuse you. i don't think Bungie thought that one through. i get that you can work around it using fireteam finder but there's no guarentee they'll get to you in time. are these missions on rotation then? so i just need to wait until one comes up without the mod?

(Mod not mode) that basically kills you when you lose your shields then it's only in 1 or 2 of the conquest missions as far as I can remember. Pretty sure it's 2. The 2nd master conquest and 2nd grandmaster. You have no choice but to run it alone? How come? Anyway... it's a team oriented negative modifier in harder content that certainly can be run in a team and that specific modifier actually promotes team play.
