Our ghosts name is Ghost Same situation as the player guardian. We are canonically a character in the narrative, but Bungie put themselves in a corner by making us a Character, and as a result, the name our guardian has is The Guardian. It’s entirely due to the fact that Bungie wants to allow people to put stand in characters, but they also want us to be narratively relevant to the Story. In other words, any name you come up for your Guardian and Ghost is not canonical to THE Guardian and their Ghost. We play that character in the story. You could argue that the name you come up with is applicable to the your Guardian inbetween Canon. For example, it’s Canon that the Guardian was apart of every Raid we played so far, but they are only one member of the 6 person fireteam. As a result, you can treat it as though The Guardian is another player and technically make your own named character as who your playing as currently. TL:Dr. the Guardian and Ghosts act as both a stand in for the players imagination and as Canonical characters resulting in weird situations like the Guardian having little narrative value despite a great deal of importance and power.
