Need some serious PC Advice - Thermal Paste on contact side of CPU

So my brother is building a PC and had a friend help out who had "built" one himself - Well somehow they managed to bend a pin on the motherboard and get thermal paste on the contact side of the cpu. It wouldnt post because of the bent pin, since it just happened to be the pin area that deals with ram functions (plus boot screen said ths RAM was malfunctioning, though we tried three different types). Im worried that the cpu could be -blam!-ed up, but the diagnostics screen says its fine, so not sure if cleaning it is wortb the hastle of possibly messing something else up. I know 91% isopropyl is recommended, and luckily we used non-conductive paste, but don't trust using a cotton pad or a q-tips because of the loose cotton. Picture is attatched - any advice is appreciated

Wrap it in a towel and put it in the microwave

Cpu pins are incredibly sensitive. But you just drop it on the motherboard and lock it in with the lever, you really have to go the extra mile to be in a position to to bend one. Whats weirder is that thermal paste managed to get onto the pin side. My only explanation is your friend was juggling the cpu and thermal paste. As for a resolution... Clean it as best you can. Like, really really best you can, then feighn ignorance and get a refund saying its faulty. Edit I mesread. If it's something on the motherboard that's busted then get a new mobo. But either way, I wouldn't use that cpu either. Check out some reddit subs like pcmr. They should help.
