I think u have forgotten the grind bungie put everyone through for bad juju catalyst and how they charged everyone 5000 bright for each different elemental ornament for season of the Worthy

Those were an indirect form of currency crunching/squishing. A direct version of this would be reducing the amount of currency you have if you have a lot to begin with. Basically, they wanted players with lots of currency to spend a lot while players that couldn't afford it would just not worry about it. Neither of these were really permanent things since you could easily do a lot of the bounties for the tribute hall over multiple weeks to get a high discount, and the other thing was just for an event. They probably wouldn't do something quite as expensive as this for a permanent system.

I wouldn't be so optimistic this is the same company that always ensure that eververse has a full nee stock while rest of the game gets same copy pasted stuff

Oh I did it's a lot of promises of a bright future (though what they are adding is bare minimum and used to be present in d1 and d2 pre shadow keep) but their past actions suggest otherwise now let's say if bungie had a reputation like cd project (which at one point they did) I would believe the twab without a second thought. Plus at least to me this twab was just to make people buy the fall/winter dlc nothing more nothing less.
