Might just be user specific not sure if others experience this. While having an exotic equipped I am unable to transfer another exotic of the same slot to the Vault. I have noticed this happens in game as well. So for example if I have Jötunn equipped I can’t transfer a wishender, it aye I already have an exotic equipped, or just flat out won’t be available to transfer I.e the button isn’t an option.
