Well, I understand what you mean by squad tactics being what you prefer.
Give Dark Souls a try, at least #1 (arguably my favorite). Costs as much as a Pizza now and gave me over 70 hours for a mainly PvE game, still not ready to move on to DSII, but I fell in love with the entire game.
