Technologies always have the potential to be very beneficial or very dangerous. Looking at history, I'd say its usually better to advance than not. More importantly, it doesn't really matter what you think, these technologies are probably going develop anyway. Technology is our capacity for solving problems, and when we embrace it, we can better deal with whatever issues we face. Check out CRISPR for an example of a really cool gene editing technology.
