Ahamkara

Do any of them still exist or are possibly still alive? If so do you think they will be In the future of destiny? What role will they play?

  • They're all dead. Meaning not a single one is alive, oh question bearer of mine

To be honest, just go to Venus and look for them. They fly around and use a sniper to look at them closely. They're 2-D like the Falcons on the cosmodrome and in some areas there's more smoke then other places indicating that it's bit the weird blue fire,'but a lot of fire. Maybe their nest. But when you're near the "nest" you hear them roaring. Not a joke, look it up on YouTube. Also that place where you fight Crota when he's in the crystal, that big skeleton to your right when you walk in is believe to be a adult Ahamkara, while the ones on Venus look pretty small. It's weird

Ahamkara still exist. If you go to Venus, they can be seen flying around in the sky, as already mentioned. There is also an Ahamkara skeleton on the moon (also already mentioned) that gives credence to their appearance. They are also a very prevalent part of the story. First, they are most likely the servants of Darkness that gave the Hive their power. This is evidenced by their description in the Grimoire and the way that it tempts Auryx and her sisters. Also, the Ahamkara are thought to be the whispers that led Dregden Got into the Darkness. He is thought to have been Pahanin, based on the fact that he was always talking to himself (like how the Ahamkara gear items are supposed talk to you) and some other evidence from the Grimoire. All in all, they're bound to be an important future part of the game.

      • They certainly still exist elsewhere. They came to our system during the Golden Age, and we think we wiped out those that came. Even if we assume we got them all, there's still plenty wherever they actually came from.

      • I forget which grimoire cards state it but yes they are alive. They just are severly diminished in population and are a very rare sighting.

      • We won't know anything until they give info on a future DLC with Ahamkara in it. We know nothing about whether any exist still or not, at least not unless a new grimoire card says so.

        • I don't think you tease the existence of space dragons and then not pay it off at some point, so yeah I think some of them survived, in fact there's a case to be made the at least nine of them survived. The mysterious Nine have the ability to subvert another's will as we see with their agent Xur (something the Ahamkara were known to be able to do) and the Nine only accept payment in strange coins which could be considered treasure and Dragons like their treasure.
