So what you're saying is: You're saving your special ammo for something/someone else, and feel cheated by needing to use your special ammo to get a kill rather than be shoulder charged? Do you evaluate each enemy target's equipped weapon and then tell them to please wait while you switch to an "appropriate" weapon based on your weapon of choice hierarchy countermeasure chart?
