You should be able to compete with every weapon in the game. Exotics shouldnt be god level, only have slight advantages. Right now the only exotic ive been using is lord of wolves. Obviously it gives you a ton of ammo and it reloads by cartridge and not slugs. But it also doesnt have much impact and no range. So I would say that give and take.
