Exotics can only take one weapon slot and one armor slot (2 if you have a exotic mark). It is a no-brainer that exotic should be class-SS god tier equipment.
Blame the whiny PVP crowd for ruining them.

Right?! At thus point why not let us equip three exotic weapons at one time. Most of them aren't great anyway.
