Why is it always "oh you main a hunter"? I'm honestly getting a little tired of that excuse (like the k/d excuse).
-
Of course he does. Wouldn't that be fairly obvious considering that this post is about hunters?
-
And of course you complain about hunters. Seems like only negative KDs do that.
-
I also find it funny that you bring up KD in a game as unbalanced (that's a good thing imo. This is a loot based shared world shooter, not CS GO.) as Destiny. There's so much randomness to the game. The skill gap is very small if even existent. Counter my points instead of resorting to non answers to sound superior and above me when in reality you have no counter.
-
KD will always matter in a game about killing. Stop blaming the game for your lack of skill.
-
Yeah you're so right. I guess in a game like Overwatch and Battleborn, KD means everything right? I guess KD maters in Battlefield right? When I'm playing control in Destiny, I shouldn't go for the actual objective right? I should ONLY go for kills so I can worry about my KD. First off, 90% of the game modes aren't about killing, genius. Second, how can KD be significant when everyone is not on an equal playing field? Destiny takes no skill. If you want something to feel good about, go do something that's worth having bragging rights about, because apparently you want to feel good about yourself for having a high number in a video game. Sounds pathetic doesn't it? I'm not going to go for kills in game modes that have nothing to do with kills. Sorry not sorry. You have supers, aim assist snipers, heavy, shoulder charge, blink, Shadestep, exotic perks, etc. Many things which do not require you to learn anything new nor does it require a skill gap. Seeing me through a wall and slowing me down with two grenades takes a lot of skill doesn't it? Using a Monte Carlo to get practically unlimited smoke grenades takes no skill. Destiny is not balanced because it is a shared world shooter. It'll never be balanced and that's a good thing. Ergo, it'll never take skill. Get over it, and go do something that's worth bragging about, kid.
-
Control. You mean the game mode where kills give points. Yeah KD matters there. Battlefield, Battleborn. Hell in any shooter kills matter. That's like saying yea I play Search and Destroy kills don't matter. Yet you plant the bomb every time and they wipe the team out and defuse. Killing will always matter in a shooting game. Even in Zone control (the only game mode where kills don't give points) kill matter because that's how you get them to not capture the point. There are plenty of setups in this game for all the classes. Monte Carlo goes well with Warlocks since they have great melees. Titans can run high strength and no back up plans for shotgun builds. Warlocks could go around with firebolts every time they die with Voidfang armor. A better setup for a hunter would be control jump with bones of eao for more speed. Same as other games. Like picking perks in CoD. Or different classes in battlefield. You pick strengths and you play to them. I've not only countered your arguments but given you arguments you've just avoided. Shooters take skill. It's that simple. Destiny takes skill. It's that simple. Just because something is exclusive and powerful doesn't mean it's op. It's that simple.
-
If you're going for mainly control points, are you seriously going to worry if you went positive? It sounds ridiculous. I never said shooters don't take skill did I? I said I'm objective based mode, if you're worried about your KD, then you're an idiot. The amount of times that you killed people versus how many times you died is irrelevant during a debate. That's ad hominem. My background and your background have nothing to do with what we're saying.
-
Backgrounds matter. Especially when your argument is biased. If your background shows you don't perform well. Or don't perform well against what you are complaining about it adds doubt to your argument. I've seen a lot of people go for control points and caps that end up costing people the game. I've seen teams bait players just letting them try and cap it to farm kills. Or just surround the enemy's point to kill the guys who think they are coming to defend it. The objective can be used to bait kills. And as long as kills give points that makes it more kill based.
-
How biased my argument is or my motives behind why I'm saying something is irrelevant to how strong it is. Reasons why I'm saying something do not change the strength of it.
-
You haven't made any points though. You've only pointed out strengths. Which I just begun doing with Warlocks. The strengths are counter-able. Can't be abused. And are situational like every other classes strengths.
-
I'm not talking about my points. I'm talking about what you said about backgrounds mattering. They don't.
-
A background can easily make people ignore you when you don't really have an informed, well put argument. Sure a background doesn't shake the validity. But when the argument doesn't have facts it easily topples it.
-
What does my KD have to do with my points? If you fail to counter my points, then they are still valid.
-
Simple. Only bad players blame classes for their lack of skill. You state a bunch of stuff hunters have that's exclusive to them. Yet fail to state stuff exclusive to other classes. Titans have 1.Titan skate 2.Juggernaut 3.Shoulder charge 4.Lightning, Suppresion, flashbang grenades 5.Force barrier And that's just a couple. They got plenty more. Warlocks have 1.Axion, firebolt grenades. 2.Only class that can spec for 2 grenades. 3.Touch of flame, Viking funeral combo 4.Self res 5.Stormcaller which is the longest lasting super. 6.Furthest melee range And the list goes on. All classes have their strengths that's scrubs like you think take no skill. I haven't had to counter anything you said because it was all biased and uninformed.
-
Destiny doesn't take skill. Go play CS GO or Halo 3 then come talk to me about skill. I wasn't the one who started a forum post whining now was I? I said that the Hunter has the most overpowered abilities in the game in comparison to everyone else. I never implied that everyone should have the same powers so don't put words in my mouth. Warlock is the only class with two grenades? Get real. Titans get two grenades with armamentarium. Hunters get two DIFFERENT grenades. They're the only class that can hold two different grenades. For some reason the Warlock's DOT is considered OP and shouldn't be in the game, but the Hunter's MELEE counts as a smoke grenade which not only causes DOT but slows you as well. Hunters have the longest range because they can throw their melee. Hunters also can have the same duration as Stormcaller with Mask of the Third Man. Funny how I'm the scrub when I'm more educated on the topic, and I'm responding the person who's whining. You still fail to counter my points. Stop giving bullshit non answers and counter them. If they're easy to counter, then do it or gtfo. You sound moronic when you bring up skill in a game like Destiny. Seriously dude?
-
Lmao only bad players say Destiny takes no skill. CS and Halo are different games that take similar skills. A shitty player there will suck here. And a good player here can transition their skill to that game. Warlocks are the only class that can spec for 2 grenades. Meaning no exotics needed. Smoke into grenade takes 2 abilities while Warlocks only need one grenade for the burn that with firebolts hits a maximum of 3 players. That's 3 players almost dead. No matter where they go. Bladedancer can last as long yea. But it requires an exotic and they don't have the range that Stormcaller does. I've countered your points. OP is a matter of opinion in this game since all these classes can counter each. All you are doing is pointing out the hunter's strengths. Doing that I can make anything look OP.
-
"Spec"? Idk what that means. And it doesn't matter if that's two abilities. Warlock's have two of the same grenades. If they do that, they can't use touch of flame, which is what gives grenades burn in the first place. You're argument makes no sense. You either get two grenades without DOT, or one grenade with it. Since smoke grenade counts as a melee, you can use sealed ahamkaras grasp to get three grenades (again, most grenades in the game) and get EVEN MORE with Monte Carlo. You make no sense. Calling me bad does not change these facts.
-
Grenades don't need DoT. They can run double fusion nades instead.
-
Still two of the same grenade as opposed to you having two smoke grenades and another standard grenade.
-
2 grenades that kill on hit. Unlike any of the voidwalkers grenades.
-
You have flux grenades. Why are you crying?
-
Not crying. Just showing you a set up that Warlocks have that's powerful. Flux grenades are also in a different class.
-
Titans have the same thing with armamentarium.
-
Yes. And like I stated above Titans require an exotic while warlocks can just select it straight from the skill tree.
