Possible. I have seen many employees who were great at their job,(Aircraft mechanics, Avionics mechanics, IT support. Quality Control support and so on...) who get promoted to management and become so marred in being a manager for that department that they forget what got them that position in the first place. Then with so much pressure from the top, they do whats best for stock holders and the people who control the money, so yes it's possible that that at one time, years ago he was a great game tester but as time went on and he moved up he become part of the problem.
