Beastality is wanting to have sex with animals. While there are undoubtably a few furries like that, there's regular people like that too. The notable difference with "Furry" is that the animals are Anthropomorphic- they have taken on a human appearence, and usually, intelligence and society. It'd be like if you took the physical traits of an animal, then mashed it together with the general human shape and cognitive ability. Freely speaking, even I wasn't a member of the Fandom, I wouldn't have much/at all of a problem with it due to said anthropormorphized animals having cognitive capability of their own, and thus, in theory, being fully able and capable of making the decisions that people often try to group with beastaility.

Think. At it's basest level, it's interspecies/racial. Let's say we do one day find another sentient species out there in space. Possibly several. The question of interspecies will be brought up then, whether or not you want to address it now or not. And, just like being gay/trans, commiting crimes, just really [i]anything[/i], people are gonna do it regardless of what you think about it. There's a LOT of weird fetishes. Gore/Vore? BDSM? Scat? Beastality? Pedophilia? Necrophillia? Inflation? Watersports? Baby? Cuckolding? Humiliation? Tickling? Is Furry the only one subject to your disproval? Also, not necessarily. I don't see why you use monkey in particular, but here's more how it is if we're going off your bias: People who occasionally like to pretend/imagine they're humanized animals like to think about -blam!-ing ither humanized animals, or people like to look at artwork about humanized animals.
