Predater would be the closest,I guess. Generally speaking, Furry refers to any member of the "Furry Fandom" or even just people who have a mild interest in it. Usually the people with milder interests try not to associate with it openly due to the stigma associated with it, which is displayed throughout this thread for your viewing pleasure. As to furry characters, they are anthropormohpized animals. What is that? Take the features of an animal, and cross it with features of a human. Such features are usually staple: Bipedalness, Human shape, human fingers instead of paws(but not necessarily applying to feet), sex and secondary sex characteristics(most furry artwork from the more adult side of the fandom will have those charateristics) and human's characteristic intelligence. Though it was not intended this was, animal cartoon characters can often be seen as furry.Most characters from the Sonic series, stuff like Digimon, the upcoming Zootopia movie- all can be considering Furry in a way as they have a "beast people" of sorts who usually are bipedal, and posses human cognitive capability.
