Gun variety doesn't mean much when 90% of them are rendered useless with every "expansion".

Yeah bud, that's how it works. You didn't realize this?? Lol. So many MMO expansions do the same thing, new expansion, new armor and weapons and you discard or sell your old stuff. Even putting aside the "not an MMO" argument we could agree that there are elements of an MMO in this game and item "turnover" is one of them.

I use all weapon types in crucible still. I busted Shadow Price out of the vault just the other day. If you mean most older guns are useless in PVE, you got me there.
