I agree the titan melee is pretty lackluster considering their intended role but for the defender I'll just say one thing: Monte Carlo + No backup plans. It's a freight train in the crucible, just equip a good shotgun and you'll be running around with an overshield for about half the match. I use it in rumble and I'm nigh on unstoppable, then I pop my bubble for weapons of light and the bonuses increase even further! Seriously though, titan bubbles can work wonders if you can use them strategically. Place them in areas that the enemy visits frequently with armour of light and wait for them to take the bait. Or find a good vantage point and use blessing of light to rain death on your foes with an unlimited overshield. And then you've got weapons which is amazing for team games. Three snipers with weapons is a wrecking crew, one hit kills all around! I'll agree that the striker needs some serious help but the defender... That's another story.
