I took a break from Destiny because it became a repetitive grind. A couple of days ago I decided to risk spending £40 on the new expansion, TTK. [b]I found that all my gear is obsolete, and ALL of my favorite hard-earned weapons have been retired with no upgrade path for year 2 -- Icebreaker, VoC, Gjallahorn.[/b] You have to realise that these weapons and the play-style I developed for them were a big part of the joy of the game for me. It would take months of grinding to get back to where I was, and by that time the next expansion will make it all obsolete again. I would have considered posted that on the Feedback forum had I realised there was one.
