Pineapple is a stupid name
Okay so today I found out that nearly every language but English calls pineapples the exact same thing. In most other languages they are called ananas. I don't know what's up with English but this is just ridiculous.

But they're a fruit, just like an apple (hence [i]apple[/i]) and they resemble a pinecone (hence [i]pine[/i]).
