There is a third door that opens with a similar panel near the entrance from the mausoleum. Don't know if that does anything but it works the same way as the other 2.

Isn't that the sky burner chest?

It's inside and to the left as soon as you enter the ship. The sky burner chest is "outside" and up top in that small room. The door is usually closed but I've seen it open and it behaves the same way as the other 2 panels. Eventually the door closes too.
