While I understand what you're getting at this was one of the solutions to make the classes feel more unique. because one of the biggest complaints in vanilla destiny was that they all felt too samey. and many attributed that to the fact that weapons were universal. If it's any consolation the class restricted weapons are no where near amazing. They preform very well for killing. but it's not like you are missing out on something amazing.
