That's a ridiculous proposition. If I believe that sin is sending us to hell and that believing in Jesus is the only way to be forgiven, then it's the worst possible thing I could do to not tell people about it.

That's simply because you're not thinking clearly. See, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and all other religions in the world, monotheistic or polytheistic, only exist because people choose to believe in them. Just because the US (or whatever country you currently live in) isn't purely Greco-Roman nor Judeo-Christian, doesn't mean we have to argue about it.
