Anyone who watches and donates twitch I don't get. And anyone who makes a living out of playing video games is also a little sad to me(it's cool they get to do it but some of them are immature, easily offended, and sometimes just assholes)
To clarify I'm ok with it that's just my opinion

If its a way to make money then its a way. I know you you clarified. But you still called it sad which does mean it does bother you. But its really no different than anyone on TV.

Actually it is not the same as acting. Actors work incredibly hard to not only get on tv but the actual process of waking up at 4 am for make up (cause every actor does this) then running scene after scene over and over multiple times for 10 or 12 hours a day sometimes longer until filming is complete. not to mention the physical strain on their bodies that some actors put themselves through for a role, take Christian bale for example every movie he is either dropping an excessive amount of weight or putting on an incredible amount of muscle in a short amount of time which I no I couldn't do because I simply don't have the same amount of dedication, he may be an asshole but he is dedicated to his work. That being said they get paid an incredible amount and get some leisure time I'm sure.

And I wasn't defending broman nor goth. Just making a point. An entertainer is an entertainer. And you can't tell me actors/actresses don't get free time. That is just stupid if you believe that they have no free time

It's not about them both being entertainers, actors work hard when they have a role and some actors push themselves to their physical limit. streamers, however, do not work hard...at all, they play video games...for "donations". And I don't care about either streamer you can insult them or ride them all you want.

If I can play I never watch twitch, but.. I'm a marine if I'm not deployed I don't do anything at all during the day at work so I watch entertaining twitch streamers at work.

I guess that's acceptable. The only streams I've seen are the reveals. The thing is it just bugs me people pay them. Playing video games is not really helping society Being a marine definitely is no question, but streaming?

Haha it's not helping society but neither are other jobs, I rather a streamer get payed a couple grand a month, and live a normal life, than some football player get paid a million dollars a month just to blow it on drugs or partying.

People who get paid to play sports are just as sad then right?I mean I know one requires more physical skill, but in the end they're the same thing. Someone being good at and dedicated to something for the entertainment of others.....and money.

That's the thing, how is it more entertaining to watch a video game then play it? It's not like the experience is different, you could do it at home unlike playing in the World Series or Super Bowl or Stanley cup. I love playing hockey but watching is different, I can't play professionally where I video games I can do 4x better than the streamers(I'm not great but I don't need to Use thorn shotgun and blink, I love f*cking around with NLB and failing)

It can be more entertaining if they're more skilled then you. Or are just entertaining themselves. They experience is different, you're not in control. How is watching vs playing hockey any different, it's not, you're not in control unless you're playing. But you're entertained, so you pay. Another thing about streamers, you don't have to pay them, and that's a risk they're taking. If a ball player totally blows and sinks the team, he still gets paid. If a streamer sucks, they won't be around long in that regard unless they have alternate income.

Exactly, you can't. So you pay for the perspective and enjoyment of watching those who can. Not all can rule in Trials, or MKX, any number of games. But if they wish to pay to watch someone entertain them and do what they can't what's the problem?
