I think they should at least let us get the Year 2 exotic upgrade for free for each Year 1 exotic maxed. It would be the minimum respect they owe us.
I didn't realize that it would be the same shitty nullified grind than TDB before I preordered TTK. How do I cancel my preorder?

Granted, in Dark Below they carried over all the Exotics, but Legendaries were screwed regardless. Then for House of Wolves being able to ascend those Legendaries was one of the big selling points they made with that image of the Fatebringer going from 300 to 365 DMG. I think you can cancel the pre-order just by going through the retailer or whoever you got the pre-order from.
