Other people may already know this but I only just realised you don't need to keep the left stick clicked in to sprint. Just click it once and as long as you keep moving you keep sprinting.

It might do now. I think Borderlands 2 might have been one of the first I rememer mentioning it as a feature. I've played a lot of games where you have to hold the run button down continuously. My little finger automatically hovers over left shift on PC keyboard for this reason =)
