Great post. Totally agree. I fail to see how it would break the game to make Etheric Light more common, or within reach of people who don't have the time to do non-matchmade activities, of which I am one. I have dozens of weapons and armor that I was hoping to upgrade, and now it looks like this will take months, if I'm able to find the time to do it at all. Not good design IMO.

It would break nothing, that's the thing. Bungie is simply being ignorantly stubborn with their "philosophy", and they're ignoring their actual players all the time. Which is also why so many players are leaving this game by the droves.
