A day or two before HoW dropped I was farming Venus near the ember caves. The prowling wolves had just started and people were all excited and whatever, but I found something then that I have not yet seen again- a "Heavy Pike." Found in one of the caves that a blue loot chest spawns in, it had a regular pike indicator and was the same shape as a normal pike, though I think the color was slightly off. The text that came up when I got near was "Ride Heavy Pike." Same maneuverability, mostly (slightly clunkier), slower shot but much more POW to it. Also, bouncing betties came out of it when you bumper-dodged left and right (similar to the mines Walkers drop). Made the prowling wolves a breeze. Used it for roughly half an hour and gave it to another player when I logged off. Haven't seen another one since. Anyone know why it appeared? Does this happen in other maps too? I really feel this was different than "A band of pikes is approaching" but that's my best guess...
