We know. But as soon as everyone accepts that, Bungie is going to lose a chunk of the player base. They can't afford to have HoW delayed months causing a content drought and during that drought deprive the people with bad luck of what they want. Lose lose situation. If Gjallarhorn were sold, however, that would turn it into a winning situation. People would come back and play until HoW with it, allowing people to survive the content drought and the game surviving. Win Win.
