New Heavy Weapon Suggestion: Flamethrower!
Destiny has many unique weapons, such as the Sword of Crota and the relic shields. A weapon that I feel would add an even more unique feel to this FPS would be a flamethrower. Especially since a flamethrower as a heavy weapon sounds really fun for PVP and PVE purposes. I would imagine that a flamethrower would have to be pretty powerful, so in exchange it should run out of ammunition fairly quickly, and have relatively short range. But in exchange, it could have unique perks such as lingering damage (Which only Thorn and class abilities currently possess), and upgrades such as "The more damage this weapon does, the more damage it deals. (Temporary buff)" Just imagine the sight of someone literally blazing through a PvP map, leading a trail of the enemy's flaming corpses behind them. While it may be quite the undertaking, you already have worked some magic with the particles that the Sunsinger subclass leaves, so I think you guys could work a little more magic into the game.

This would be somewhat overpowered unless you give it a long reload time and a small mag. Adding a whole archetype surrounding this would be rather stupid. A better idea would be giving another exotic flaming bullets to the point where it sets everything on fire, but the fire doesn't chain.

You could make it less OP by making the pools of plasma/fire/... hurting everything. Even the user. If not, the weapon will be like a super. Also, you have to find a way to give it a use in PvE. Because short range in PvE sucks, because you ain't gonna approach bosses closely. And that's the only place where heavies are used frequently. BUT. Swords have proved that they can have their use in PvE soooooo yeah.

I would make it a very rare item maybe three exotic the trick will be making them not overpowered you're making a very hard to achieve like the fallen themed weapons weapons from the elder Cypher or an exotic bounty

1 RespuestaWhy not heavy sniper rifle only holds 4 explosive payload rounds, capable of piercing through enemies and walls but requires x-ray scope, and uses 2 round per shot, but u cant sprint when equipped When in PvE it critical hit damage is out of this world causing over 40,000 damage but chance of it dropping is -1% lol

I'd call them Plasma Projectors and they would throw blue-white flames. The area of effect dot that sticks to walls and floors is regular orange-yellow and does less damage. Honestly I'd be happy to see this in game but due to system/game memory constraints I don't think it could happen. The game would stutter and probably crash. Ever since they had to jump through hoops to give us a tiny bump in vault space, I have little hope for anything new with massive special effects added.

Not new, I submitted this idea months ago. And it won't happen, mainly cause it would have to be damage over time. Would the target get set on fire? In pvp it would get nerfed. In PVE it would be useless. I only see this being used on lanterns for crotas end.

No can you imagine people who like shotguns running around with flamethrowers worst idea. Everyone will run around with them it would be chaotic!

Exciting! The name flame thrower needs to be scraped, though it gets the idea across. We can't call it a flame thrower because there is also arc damage and void damage! It will be an awesome opportunity to actually see the damage types. Whether it is a new heavy class, or just one exotic I think this is a great idea. I would be disappointed if it was just another relic like equip, like the sword of Crota, but I'll take what I can get. I'm now looking forward to tearing apart my foes with bursts of flame, arcs of lightning, and tendrils of void energy writhing from the mouth of my weapon.
