I rather melee them to get force barrier activated when close distance and use my scout and sniper to remove those in my way or enemy with shield from mid to long range.

I sometimes shoot them with shotgun first, then melee and then get the force barrier. And when I have the regenerating force barrier around me with "No Backup Plans", I can go to town with the shotgun.

I rather hold my sniper, there stronger and kill all enemy fast and from safe distance and with ice breaker I can avoids death all day if I wanted to.

Yeah, you know given how short shotgun range is, they should do massive damage in PVE.

Probable reason I don't use shotgun are how PVP abuse them so much,like on call of duty and even on here on destiny that there last one I'll use on any game. I do carry one but in only for crucible and I only use once in a while.
