Because if I run up to a knight and blast him/melee and he DOESNT die, then what? There are no situations where a shotgun is the weapon of choice for PVE. I don't think Ove ever actually seen anyone use one.

Shotgun him to the face till he dies. Works for me vs Knights, surprisingly well too! Unless we talk of Nightfall with the angry and lightswitch. :p

The whole purpose of firearms is to kill at range. Video game shotguns force you to get too close to do enough damage to bullet sponge enemies. Maybe it's just me but there seems to be too many other, less risky methods of dispatching an enemy.

Well sometimes people are stupid/sneaky enough to get close. That's when I whip out my shotgun. :p
