We bought the game. We continue to play it. We are shoveling the coal fueling the fire that is burning us. I LOVE the parts destiny gets right, I can't deny that. And I don't mind a bit of grind, it comes with the territory. BUNGIE just pushes it too damned far. I believe there was a reason that Joe Staten left. I believe that Destiny circa 2013 was axed, then glued back together with the bits that Bungie had finished. I believe that there is more to the Marty McDonnell story than we will ever know. I believe Activision had a hand in rushing the game to the release I believe that Bungie knows that the community knows this. I'm committed to Destiny. I will go to the end game, I'll finish it until they kill the servers because I've already invested a lot of time in it and I want to see how the final game differs from the initial release.... ...but with regards to Destiny 2, I will wait for reviews, which are sure to be very scrutinizing and skeptical. I will wait. As a game, Destiny is a 5/10. But as an addiction, it's a 10. A God damned 10. But I don't need any more addictions, I need games.

  • Yeah, Destiny is a game that is super enjoyable with friends. Problem is, hardly any of mine play anymore. The 5 I started out with known in the real world quit after a month. Then I made 20-25, now they've pretty much quit in the last month.

  • That last paragraph... So true. Once I got out of my destiny addiction, from focusing on uni, I just can't get back into it. It was great when I was addicted, I would spend 4-5 hours a day. Now that I'm out of the addiction I just can't get myself to play.

  • Yeah, I think if I took a week off from it, whatever hold it has on me would wear off and then I'd be left wondering what happened. They are smart though. Weekly reset comes and you feel the pull to go back to the raids and weeklies, just when you're burnt out on those, BAM! Xurday. What's he selling? Ohhhh I need that, okay now I need a few days to level it up and then just like that, weekly reset again. Every 3-4 days something happens that introduces a new (but not really) element to the game.

I went back to DUST514 for one night, and my addiction to Destiny wore off almost immediately. I'm not really bothered with the raid as it takes hours to actually get past Crota or Atheon glitching than it does to kill them, reward system is mediocre and keeps giving me crap I already have, PvP's lag issues are really bad and make it unplayable for me -not that the repetitive map size was off putting as it is-, most of my Destiny friends have all together stopped playing due to boredom, and the addiction wore off on them too. Either that cut content magically appears outta thin air -for free not a fee- really damn soon, or this supposed "10 year project" won't even last a few years tops.
