Is it sad I have more online friends than real life friends? Lol

Nope. Behind that microphone is a real living person that lives on earth just like you. Nothing sad about it. In fact it's a good way to meet new people. (Even crazy ones so be careful who you talk to haha) because you live in a place and there's a curtain limit on how many people you meet in that place. With the Internet now you are able to meet basically anyone. So definitely not sad. Nothing to be ashamed of.

You know I think that's depressing because there's nothing like human interaction. Raw real connection. But I don't consider it "sad" a lot of people are stupid and I would rather talk to people online then deal with their bullsh1t in person sometimes
-
I just find it much easier to interact with people online. I've always been really quiet and socially awkward in person.

We are now able to reach out and find people with shared interests, rather than just those we are linked to geographically. Those people exist in your "real life" - you just connect to them via different means. If calling your parents on the phone is a legitimate interaction, then meeting friends over the same infrastuctire ought to be as well. It's not sad, it's exciting.

Wish my parents saw it that way, they think I'm a friendless hermit. They keep inviting me out/signing me up for events so I can "meet people and make friends" though I haven't lived at home for years lol. I'm perfectly fine only having just a handful of close real life friends.
-
Well, you can be pleased that your parents care for you and want the best for you. But if you grew up in a time before the web, your ideas about what constitutes "social" interaction are going to be much different. I think parents forget that they will likely have a very small circle of close friends and a much wider circle of aquaintances whom they meet socially, but wouldn't necessarily call on in an emergency.

He's right just because you've never met them doesn't mean they aren't real. I mean you're real? And they haven't met you so what's the difference from your side
