The best example of LFG to compare it to WoW. Just like now, you have the option to make and join a group with friends. This would be completely unaffected. But, if for some reason there are no friends on, you can join LFG and it will auto place you in a group. Once the group is formed and thrown into a raid, you are removed from LFG. If a member of your group leaves, it will not throw you back into LFG, you will instead have the opportunity to fill it yourself. But if for some reason you cant fill it, you can go through an option screen and rejoin LFG, which will have your group auto fill again. This would not require you to go to orbit either, it would just fill the roster while in the raid. This would in no way affect the current set up with the game, but at the same time would provide an ability for 100% of the playerbase to do the raids, instead of the 18% or whatever that currently have done them. Who cares about the squeakers, they have the same chance to get into a raid now by going to the forums as the rest of us do. Besides, if you dont like them, you dont have to queue for LFG... And this suggestion is even bare bones... They could go above and beyond this and add features where you could specify what you are looking for and people could join upon that. That idea was already suggested above... The possibilities of what LFG could do, and how it could be designed are endless... And it is way better than the current set up.. If I was to quit this game for any reason, it would honestly be the horrible way that raids/matchmaking are set up.. It is completely lazy and pathetic of Bungie to design their endgame raids behind this wall... It keeps too many people from experiencing the content and it only shooting themselves in the foot. There is no financial gain to come from their setup, but a loss of money instead.
