Though i apreciate your advice, its also obvious you r an IT person and the layman has no idea what any of that means. Also, am i to understand you spent $150 bucks to play destiny? Now thats dedication.

Yup, I spent $119 + reused an existing router to let me play destiny online with my daughter (who is 24 years old). As time passes, and the kids get older, the opportunity to spend time with your kids becomes more valuable than money. Well.. that's what I tell my wife anyways.. ; )

Awesome, but im inept with electronics and broke, and honestly for me it is the principle of the thing. Is the technicolor router from comcast dogshit?

Seems to be the cause of the problem. I think what is happening is that the technicolor modem can only handle so many connections at a time (probably has a table hardcoded to accept only 8 or 10 or some small number of connections. When you enter a public event or a public area, all the players in that area starts up a connection with you. This probably overflows the table and it drops the connections. Anyways, that's my guess on what is happening based upon what I've seen.
