2 legendary weapon engrams turned into shards / energy
was lucky enough to get 2 legendary weapon engrams as drops yesterday
first one turned into 3 ascendent energy
second one turned into 2 ascendent shards
what is that about? I realise that ascendent energy is equivalent to a legendary weapon, but how are ascendent shards???
people talk about RNG, I don't think it's RNG, I think it's pseudo RNG, the game uses all sorts of rules to see if it will give you another weapon, and it's related to keeping you grinding
if I'd sharded all the legendary weapons that I have that I haven't upgraded yet, it would have given me a weapon then
EDIT: this game can be funny sometimes, just got another legendary engram, and it turned into the Fourth Horseman

3 RepliesThere's people that gotten alot of legendary engrams and never gotten an exotic out of them and rarely a weapon or piece of armor and you're complaining that two engrams gave you ascendant materials...

1 ReplyI get extremely lucky with legendary gear engrams because I have gotten two exotic heads from a legendary head engram(ats/8 arachnid and I forget the other one) and a lot of my blue gear engrams have turned into legendary gear, but with weapon engrams I always get shards or energy all the blaming time and right now all I really want are weapons

4 RepliesI got two legendary weapon engrams from a cryptarch level up. Both turned into shards. It boosted me to 31, so I can't complain, but I was really looking forward to some legendary (or exotic?) weapons.

1 ReplyIt is rather stupid. Blue/green engrams don't turn into weapon parts or class-specific armor upgrade material. Why do legendary engrams turn into anything but legendary items? Crazy design choice.
