I think people are too concerned about the size of other people... It's their body, not yours. However big or small they choose to be is up to them and rarely has any impact on others.

So you don't think that someone who is obese, who is claiming to be healthy, could have an impact on younger people? I do agree that people love to speak their opinions (especially when it comes to other people), but I disagree that people's actions don't influence others.

"Rarely" means seldom and not often (per its definition). You said that there was "rarely-any", which leaves for a pretty slim margin of impact. Considering how much the media itself influence people's opinions and ideals, I think that the impact is a lot higher than 'rarely'. We have 4 major industries based on the sizes and looks of people... (health & fitness, fashion, beauty products, the celebrity media circuit) I find it strange that such things would rarely have an influence on younger people.

I wasn't arguing semantics. Rarely doesn't mean [i]no[/i] nor does it imply it. You took what I said out of context and even somehow managed to assume that I said (or think) the actions of others don't influence people. Perhaps I'm far off in saying it rarely happens, but I didn't say it doesn't happen at all. Are we done now? 'Cause this sub-thread has gone way off topic...
