Depends on how radical you go m8
-
I don't know of any religious deity that accepts belief if it's "just in case" rather than true or meaningful.
-
United Methodist will accept you if you "take Jesus Christ as your savior" before you die, so you can -blam!- around until then

Edited by Masque of Night: 1/27/2015 8:17:51 PMYes, but that's under the assumption that you truly do believe in his power and accept him as your savior prior to your death. You can just say you do right before you croak if you want, but unless you genuinely do believe and mean it, it serves no purpose. The minds of men can be misled rather easily, but should Christianity, or any religion for that matter, prove true after you pass, you'll have a harder time bluffing your way into salvation when you're confronted by something other than human.

If any god gets so pissed off because I don't bow down and worship him that he banishes me to hell, I'll personally join Satan's demon ranks to destroy him myself.
-
So you'll be bowing down and worshipping anyway!
-
I don't think that's how it works either.

Edited by Masque of Night: 1/27/2015 8:31:06 PMUnder ordinary circumstances, i'd agree with you, but having false faith is basically asking for some form of backlash. It wouldn't be unreasonable for a deity to be bothered that someone would attempt to lie their way into their kingdom. You'd basically be spitting in their face as well as in the faces of those who have genuine faith. If you're not going to believe something truly, that's fine and I respect it, but have the dignity to own up to that instead of saying, "Oh yeah, I totally believe in so and so or this and that." out of fear of some sort of retribution once you're dead. An honest atheist would be more noble in the eyes of God than a liar who'd try to enter heaven by dishonest means. (Not trying to come off as offensive, and I apologize if I do.)

Great, glad to see the God ruling over us still has the mentality of a 7 year old. Revert to my point about joining Satan's army

*shrugs* Do what you want to do. I'm not a Christian myself, I personally have nothing to do with any of this.
-
>not a christian >tries to lecture me on how to get into heaven K.

All I was saying is you're not going to "play the game" with an omnipotent deity and win, there's no fooling someone who knows all, you'd be better off meeting him after your death with the honest foot forward and hope for the best. If you're a good person, you'll be given a chance to accept him, if you attempt to lie your way into salvation or you've been an asshole all your life you'll likely be going to hell, and it'll be within reason. I have a moderate knowledge of Christianity and its sub-sects, and based off of that knowledge being part of an organized religion isn't the important part of it. Living your life with a kind heart towards your fellow man, accepting Christ, and asking forgiveness for your earthly sins is what matters, if you do these things, how many times you've been to church or what congregation you're were a part of won't mean much. Do you have a better idea of what i'm trying to explain now? And again, wasn't intending to be offensive, i'm just explaining as I've come to understand it.

But you aren't one either...?
